Young Thug YSL RICO Trial Postponed Indefinitely Following Judge Controversy

Recent reports reveal that the trial of Young Thug YSL has been postponed indefinitely due to a controversy involving Judge Ural Glanville, who is seeking to recuse himself from the case.

Following a clandestine meeting between the judge, a witness, and prosecutors, the trial was halted pending an investigation into Judge Glanville’s conduct.

Glanville has agreed that the trial cannot proceed until another judge determines whether he should step down from the case over allegations of misconduct.

The Fulton County judge engaged in a publicized dispute with Thug’s attorney Brian Steel regarding the meeting with witness Kenneth Copeland, which Steel deemed unconstitutional.

Additionally, Glanville has consented to make the transcripts of his meeting with the witness and prosecutors publicly available.

Steel recently filed a motion to have Glanville dismissed from the trial, claiming that he had an “unlawful, improper ex parte meeting” with Copeland, who had previously been granted immunity by the prosecution in exchange for his testimony.

Steel asserts that neither he nor Thug were informed of the meeting, contending that it violated the rapper’s “constitutional and statutory rights, including the right to due process, a fair trial, a fair tribunal, ethical prosecutors, and the right to be present at every critical stage of the proceedings under the Georgia Constitution.”
